"Fragile Monuments" - Part2

Bryce Canyon NP | Utah | USA | 2008
Suddenly you stay at the viewpoint and have a perfect auditorium in front of you. Not only staying on top, also looking from the bottom between the loose rocks and trees make this National Park so beautiful. Bryce Canyon is named after Ebenezer Bryce, who homesteaded in the area in 1874. He once said: ‚It's a hell of a place to lose a cow. ..."

Page has become the gateway to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Lake Powell, attracting more than 3 million visitors per year.

"Breathless Impressions"

Antelope Canyon | Page | USA | 2008
One of the best spots for photographer in Arizona. The very small canyon is only a few hundred feets long. But every 5 steps you can see another spectacular view. Simply gorgeous!!!

"Mushrooms - big as elephants"

Marble Canyon | Page | Arizona | USA | 2008
When you drive the Highway 89A from Kanab to Page, you come to the marvellous Navajo Bridge. Short distance before you reach the Lee´s Ferry Road which leeds you to Lee´s Ferry, the starting point of the Grand Canyons Raftings. Along the street you can see some rocks which reminds you at oversized mushrooms.

"Beautiful colours in a hot surrounding" - Part 2

Valley of Fire State Park | Nevada | USA | 2008
This little State Park is in our opinion the park with the most colourful rocks in the United States Unfortunately the State Park live up to one's name ... it was 112°F (45°C). So a lot of things we couldn´t do. Have a look on our US-Trip in 2010 (-coming soon-). There was a "cool" 86°F (30°C).

"The Desert City" - Nighttime

Nighttime | Las Vegas | Nevada | USA | 2008
My last visit to Las Vegas was 1997. And since then so many things have changed. New Casinos with new Ambiances. Bigger, faster, newer .... that's Las Vegas, the city with two different faces - one during the day, another during the night.

"Water to survive"

Mono Lake | California | USA | 2008
This salty sea at the east entrance to Yosemite National Park is a big service reservoir for the californian cities. The Tufa Stones look like swimming rocks. And the birds are happy about this quiet place with billions of little flies to eat.

"The famoust Bridge in the World"

Golden Gate Bridge | San Francisco | California | USA | 2008
Construction of the bridge began on January 5, 1933. The project was finished by April 1937. The Golden Gate Bridge is not only the most popular place to commit suicide in the United States but the most popular in the entire world. The deck is approximately 245 feet (75 m) above the water. After a fall of approximately four seconds, jumpers hit the water at some 76 miles per hour (122 km/h). At such a speed, water has proven to take on properties similar to concrete.

"The beautiful end of America"

Highway 1 | California | USA | 2008
One of the greatest streets of the world. Its well-known reputation has good reasons: You see beautiful beaches, wonderful State Parks, lots of different animals (like sea elephants) and steep cliffs. But only when the typical californian fog is away.

"Big, fast, dirty"

Los Angeles | California | USA | 2008
Los Angeles ... the biggest californian city. But in the end there are only a few spots where visitors are going. You can find 90% of them in Hollywood or at the beaches ...

"Extreme Loneliness" - Part 2

Joshua Tree NP | California | USA | 2008
This is our alltime favorite for National Parks. You can see a lot of beautiful joshua trees. You have a lot of good trails for hiking. And you have wonderful campgrounds without electricity. Therefore it is totally dark during the night and you can see millions of stars.
