Wikipedia says about my hometown: Ubstadt-Weiher is a municipality in northern Karlsruhe district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located on Bertha Benz Memorial Route. The four villages that make up the municipality are (in order of Size): Ubstadt, Weiher, Zeutern and Stettfeld. The area in between and around these villages is numbered with grape Vineyards. There are many Wineries found in these villages.

The Britzer Garden, a large park in the south of Berlin, was designated after the local part Britz of Berlin's borough Neukoelln. "Where the Gold-Else looks over Berlin"

The Victory Column is designed by Heinrich Strack after 1864 to commemorate the Prussian victory in the Danish-Prussian War. The column itself consists of four solid blocks of sandstone, three of which are decorated by cannon barrels captured from the enemies. The Humboldt Box is a futuristic museum structure on the Schloßplatz in the center of Berlin. It was built as a temporary exhibition space and viewing platform for the Berlin Palace - Humboldt Forum construction project and to inform the public about its future use. As well here are some pics of my favourite viewpoint at the Alexanderplace: The TV Tower, the Church Tower and the street lamp.

Beneath the Zoological Garden there is the building of the Berlin Aquarium. You can see a lot of fishes in their pools but it was tricky to take pictures because of the darkness of the exhibition. In the top levels of the Aquarium there are the reptils and here it is better to photograph.

The monastery of Arkadi is an Eastern Orthodox monastery, situated on a fertile plateau 23 km to the southeast of Rethymnon on the island of Crete. The current catholicon (church) dates back to the 16th century and is marked by the influence of the Renaissance. Situated on a plateau, and surrounded by a thick and high wall, the monastery is also built like a fortress. The monastery played an active role in the Cretan resistance of Ottoman rule during the Cretan revolt in 1866. 943 Greeks, mostly women and children, sought refuge in the monastery. After three days of battle and under orders from the hegumen (abbot) of the monastery, the Cretans blew up barrels of gunpowder, choosing to sacrifice themselves rather than surrender. The Kourtaliotiko Gorge, also known as the Asomatos Gorge, is a gorge on the southern side of the western part of the island of Crete. The village of Koxare is at the northern end of the gorge. A road runs north to south through the gorge joining Koxare to Asomatos; it then leads west, on to the town of Plakias on the southern coast of Crete. In Summer 2011 we stayed for about 4 weeks on Crete/Greece near Plakias. We had an appartment in the Hapimag-Complex in Damnoni. Nearby is the Timeos Stavros, a hill with a little church on top of it. It is an exhausting walk to the top, but you have a gorgious panoramique view. The second walk with my family.
