"Freezing Animals"

Like every year, we spent a few days around Easter in Berlin. This year, however. not in a Spring capital but in a winter sports capital. But not only snow was exciting. The temperatures were near -10 degrees Celsius.

Beginning of February I visited the Karlsruhe Zoo with my children and with my new camera, a SONY NEX 5N - system camera.

So please forgive me some not so good pics. I will learn to handle this new technical toy.

Once again I visited the Zoological Garden when I stayed for some days in Berlin. Once again it is nice to see all the fascinating animals. This time I was interested in the beautiful Tiger.

"Last time I saw Knut alive"

In August once again we visited the Berlin Zoological Garden. What we didn´t know at that time is, that some months later the world famous Icebear Knut would be dead. But this Zoo is a great pleasure even without Knut and so it surely wasn´t the last visit.

The San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world, with over 4,000 animals of more than 800 species. It is also one of the few zoos in the world that houses the giant panda.









"The Great Shamu-Show"

If you stay in San Diego, the visiting of SeaWorld is a Must. It´s quiet expansive but perhps you make it once a lifetime and so all the money is "relativ". SeaWorld San Diego, the first SeaWorld park, opened on March 21, 1964. The park features shows such as Believe, the current Shamu show and Sea Lions Live, a comedic show with sea lions and otters.

Some weeks before our family had get a fourth member (Tim) we made a trip to the Wilhelma, the Zoo in Stuttgart. The Wilhelma is home to over 8,000 animals from over 1,000 different species and exotic plants from over 5,000 species.

"Wild animals in spring fever"

In April 2006 we stayed again for some days in Berlin. During this period we visited again the Berlin Zoological Garden. And again it was a fantastique day with all these wild animals.

The Tierpark Berlin is one of the two zoos in Berlin. It is located in Friedrichsfelde, on the former grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace. At 160 hectares it is Europe's largest zoological garden. Founded in 1955, it is the former East Berlin pendant to Berlin Zoologischer Garten.

Once again it is a pleasure to spend a day in the Zoological Garden in Berlin. It was the end of October 2004 and we saw a lot of "Indian Summer". The animals enjoyed the last warm sunbeams.
