Ribe is the oldest extant Danish town. It was in former times the main danish harbour city at the north sea. The fantastic cathedral is as well the oldest cathedral in Denmark.

"The second of the Mary´s"

Queen Mary 2 | Hamburg | Germany | 2013-08
The main reason for our sightseeing trip to Hamburg was the presence of the Queen Mary 2. That Saturday the vessel layed at the dock and waited for the departure that evening. Now we have seen both Queen Mary´s: QM1 in Long Beach (in 2008) and now QM2 in Hamburg.

"One of the AIDA-Group"

AIDAluna | Hamburg | Germany | 2013-08
During our stay in Hamburg we were astonished to see an AIDA-Vessel at the Terminal Center. During the harbour cruise with the ferry we passed the AIDA two times.

"German ships in danish territory"

Marina Minde | Rendbjerg | Denmark | 2013-08
Nearby our holiday home is this marina. Every nice weekend it is overcrowded because of the ship owners, especially germans. The reason is that the route to the baltic sea is not as far as from Kiel or Lübeck.

"A small harbour nearby"

Harbour | Grasten | Denmark | 2013-08
The small harbour of Grasten is situated nearby the Egernsund Bridge. Here are some pics from this beautiful and calm point.

"Dead people and living animals"

Cemetery | Grasten | Denmark | 2013-08
A little trip took me to the cemetery of Grasten. There, I was surprised by two deer and a small spider. Overall it is a cemetery with a nice atmosphere.

"A city to pass"

Esbjerg | Denmark | 2013-08
During our trip to Ribe we thought that visiting the nearby city of Esbjerg is a good idea. But after the nice village of Ribe, Esbjerg was a cold and dirty city... in our opinion. And so the selection of pics is quite small.

"Open only once an hour"

Egernsund Bridge | Egernsund | Denmark | 2013-08
In South Denmark near Sonderborg there is the small Egernsund bascule bridge. It was only a short walk away from our Summer Holiday House.
