"Crossing the Kiel Canal in about 5m height"

The "Schwebefähre" (suspension ferry) runs daily every quarter of an hour from early morning until late at night. It covers a distance of 125 metres within 1½ minutes and provides the shortest connection between the municipality of Osterrönfeld and the city of Rendsburg. Origin: wikipedia


"The second of the Mary´s"

The main reason for our sightseeing trip to Hamburg was the presence of the Queen Mary 2. That Saturday the vessel layed at the dock and waited for the departure that evening. Now we have seen both Queen Mary´s: QM1 in Long Beach (in 2008) and now QM2 in Hamburg.

During our stay in Hamburg we were astonished to see an AIDA-Vessel at the Terminal Center. During the harbour cruise with the ferry we passed the AIDA two times.

From our danish Holiday we made a trip to Hamburg (it was only 2h driving by car). We decided to take a regular harbour ferry to have a look on the giant harbour. It was a sunny saturday afternoon and we had a lot of fun to see an AIDA-vessel as well as the marvellous Queen Mary 2.

In 2013 the WWF Organization in Germany made a germanwide tour through some cities with a bunch of 1600 Pandas made from paper mache. It should remember that worldwide only 1600 Pandas still live in freedom.

During our stay in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania we visited the little town of Waren an der Müritz. There it is the wonderful Müritzeum, a Museum and Aquarium with animals and things of the nearby landscape. After than we made a trip on boat over the Müritzsee, the biggest lake in Germany.

In May 2013 I spent some days near Fleesensee in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A wonderful landscape with beautiful corners. Especially the little town of Malchow is very pretty. As well as the surrounding area.










"Nothing else matters"

Near my favourite place to take pictures, the small pond I told you earlier, there is a fantastic unaffected place. No sign of civilization, a real biotop. And the worst thing about that ... I discovered it not until 2 years ago. Shame on me :-)

The "Blickwinkelsucher Ubstadt" (what means "Perspective View Finder") is a group of Photo-Friends in the surrounding of the "Family Center Ubstadt-Weiher". The "Blickwinkelsucher Ubstadt" made an excursion to the Bruchsal palace. We choosed the theme "Weird and Wonderful".

One place for me to relax and take pictures nearby my house is a small pond only 500 metres away. It´s not a big place but the views change from one site to another. And from spring to winter. Have a look for some summer-pics from there.

Beginning of February I visited the Karlsruhe Zoo with my children and with my new camera, a SONY NEX 5N - system camera.

The first excursion in 2013 went to the Technikmuseum in Speyer. It was our first but not our last visit. Even my children Svenja and Tim were enjoying it. Especially the Buran (the russian answer to the american Space Shuttles), the Boeing 747 and the Antonow were big favorites.
